Epworth United Methodist Church in Massillon, Ohio, is a caring, open, welcoming, and accepting community of faith. We encourage all people to be a part of the body of Christ through worship, fellowship, Christian education, and missions/outreach. Our ministry is to help others become followers of Jesus Christ and to take a leadership role in serving others.

A United Methodist is someone who joins in that mission by putting faith and love into action. We believe that God loves all people, and that we share in expressing that love. The United Methodist tradition emphasizes God’s grace and serving others. 

Lighthouse Congregation

Massillon Epworth UMC is a Lighthouse Congregation. Lighthouse congregations are those United Methodist Churches in our conference who are willing to be a place of welcome, rest, and friendship for United Methodist people who have lost their own congregation through disaffiliation or closure. They may choose to stay with us for awhile as they decide on their next faithful steps, or they may choose to join EUMC. In either case, they are welcome here, and we will love and care for them. We have already welcomed a few into membership who had lost their former church homes. The Board voted unanimously to become a Lighthouse Congregation because, as they said, “This is who we are and who we have always been.” We are committed to taking this step in letting people who are looking for a loving United Methodist Church know that we are here for them.
